The duties of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs constitute one of the main pillars upon which the college administration relies. The Associate Dean is responsible for overseeing scientific activities, conferences, and seminars, in addition to monitoring the affairs of undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring their academic and administrative discipline. The role also includes supervising the preparation of timetables, coordinating between departments, and implementing the regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizing final examination schedules in coordination with academic departments.
- Preparing weekly class schedules and managing classroom allocations.
- Supervising lecture records and the time coverage of curricula.
- Monitoring the attendance and discipline of postgraduate students.
- Reviewing postgraduate admission applications and forwarding them to the relevant departments.
- Following up on student transfer requests from other universities.
- Overseeing student enrollment periods, leaves, and annual statistics.
- Preparing defense data, committee minutes, and evaluation reports.
- Announcing examination results and providing grades to academic departments.
- Organizing the handover and receipt of examination booklets and questions.
- Corresponding with official authorities regarding students from enrollment until graduation.
- Signing promotion and salary increment forms for postgraduate staff members.
